What does the test check?
- Listening: short audio clips with questions.
- Reading: short texts with comprehension questions.
- Writing: sentences your child writes on their own.

How it works

Tips before your child starts
- A quiet place and headphones if possible: the listening section needs focus.
- Let them answer alone, with no help and no dictionary. The goal is their real level, not a high score.
- If they have never studied English, that's fine: it's a useful result too, and they'll start at Pre-A or Level 1 depending on their age.
After the result
The result places your child at one of Lumio's seven levels. Then book a free trial class at that level on WhatsApp, in a small group or one-on-one.

What ages is the test for?
Children and teens from 4 to 15. Very young children may need someone to read the instructions to them.
My child has never studied English. Should they take it?
They can, or you can book the trial class straight away at the level for their age: Pre-A for ages 4–6, Level 1 for ages 6–8.
